3 Steps to Stress Management

Stress Management, is not Rocket Surgery.  Unfortunately, many of us don't take the time to form healthy habits around stressful situations, thoughts and feelings.  As a result, we end up fearing the Fear and a Vicious Cycle can ensue.  The good news, is that successful Stress Management can be as easy as:
  • Regularly checking your stress levels (on your built-in 'Stress-o-Meter')
  • Breathing into your 'belly'
  • Confronting stressful situations with a relaxed body
Obviously, there's a bit of psychoeducation around how this works and how to easily integrate it into your daily routine (otherwise there'd be no workshop!).

3 Steps to a Healthier Relationship with Social Media

The Smartphone has changed the way most of us live.  It has been described by one behavioural researcher as 'the cigarette of the 21st century'.  We have never had as much contact with others - and, yet - there have never been higher levels of isolation, loneliness, anxiety and 'FOMO'.  Social Media platforms have been designed to be as addictive as possible, in order to keep us coming back and clicking on ads (or, at least, seeing them).

Inspired by the work of Nir Eyal (Author of 'Hooked' and 'Indistractable'), this workshop looks at the dynamics behind Social Media platforms, which make them so addictive, as well as looking at simple, effective strategies for reducing harm connected with Social Media use.  We cover:
  • Conditioning (How habits are formed through positive and negative reinforcement).
  • The evolutionary Psycho-Social importance of 'Status' within our community and how social media taps into that drive.
  • How to set healthy boundaries around social media use.
  • The mental health benefits of 'digital detoxing'.
